of Automobile Insurance Coverages
BODILY
INJURY LIABILITY
Pays
when you are legally liable for injury or death caused by
your vehicle. Also applies if someone drives your vehicle
with permission. Pays up to total of single limit coverage;
or up to first limit for any one person injured or killed,
and up to second limit for two or more persons injured or
killed.
UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED
MOTORIST COVERAGE
Pays you and passengers in your insured vehicle, any monetary
damages legally entitled to be recovered as a result of
bodily injury or death caused by an uninsured, or underinsured,
or hit and run motorist. UM limits must equal bodily
injury limits unless you reject the coverage entirely or
request other limits in writing.
COLLISION
Pays for loss or damage to your vehicle caused by collision
with another object.
COMPREHENSIVE
Pays for loss or damage to your vehicle caused by fire,
theft, vandalism, hail, windstorm, riot, falling objects,
flood, etc.
PROPERTY
DAMAGE
Pays when you are legally liable for damage to the property
of others caused by your vehicle.
PERSONAL
INJURY PROTECTION
Covers the named insured, resident relatives, and passengers
who do not have their own personal injury protection coverage,
and who are injured in a motor vehicle accident regardless
of fault. Benefits paid are 80% of all reasonable medical
expenses, funeral expenses up to $1,750.00, and up to 60%
of loss of earnings. These benefits are up to a maximum
of $10,000.00.
MEDICAL PAYMENTS
Pays medical, dental, hospital, funeral and related expenses
for you and household relatives resulting from a motor vehicle
accident. Protects anyone riding in your vehicle. Also
covers you and household relatives in other vehicles or
if struck as pedestrians. Applies only to injuries
incurred in a motor vehicle accident, and does not apply
to lost wages.
